NHRP reviews the project type and location to identify an appropriate participating contractor, subject to local availability and contractor acceptance.

Meet at the home and define the project
During the site visit, the contractor can inspect visible conditions, discuss priorities, answer questions, and prepare the details needed for a written estimate.

Review the estimate and optional financing
Compare the contractor scope and price first. Qualified applicants may then review financing that can spread eligible project costs over time; approval and terms are never guaranteed.
What happens at the home
The site visit turns a request into useful project details.
The contractor can review visible conditions, measurements, access, materials, priorities, and questions that cannot be resolved from an online form. After that review, ask for the proposed scope, exclusions, price, schedule, responsibilities, and change-order process in writing.
If financing is useful, compare the actual provider terms separately from the contractor agreement. Financing is subject to approval and may not be available for every applicant or project.
